Professor Urszula Promińska is a full Professor at the Department of Commercial Law, Insurance and Industrial Property within the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Lodz. She has been employed at the university since 1974, progressing from assistant to associate professor, and has held the position of full professor since 2005. She currently heads the Industrial Property Law Department in the Department of Economic and Commercial Law.
Her research interests focus on civil law, commercial law with particular emphasis on partnership law, intangible property law, industrial property (including trademarks, company names, and business names), contract law (especially unnamed contracts), and combating unfair competition. For twenty years, she has lectured on trademark law at the Postgraduate Intellectual Property Studies at the University of Warsaw in addition to her regular teaching duties at the University of Lodz.
Professor Promińska has published approximately 200 works, including two monographs, co-authored and edited scholarly monographs, and numerous specialized commentaries. Her publications demonstrate consistent expertise in trademark law, commercial partnerships, and unnamed contracts within the Polish legal framework. She has supervised three doctoral dissertations and served as a reviewer in over a dozen doctoral and habilitation proceedings, as well as in one professorship appointment process.
She maintains regular office hours on Mondays (15:15-16:00) and Tuesdays (14:15-15:00) in room 4.06 at the Kopcińskiego 8/12 building in Lodz.
