Dr. Ursel Schlicht serves as a Lecturer in Improvisation at the Department of Music, University of Kassel. An accomplished pianist and scholar, she brings extensive international performance experience to her academic role with expertise spanning jazz traditions, contemporary music, and cross-cultural musical dialogue.
Education:

- Doctorate earned at the Musicological Institute in Hamburg under Helmut Rösing and Peter Niklas Wilson

Her scholarly work focuses on improvisational practices across cultural contexts, examining how musical spontaneity intersects with cultural identity and gender dynamics.
