Urs-Vito Albrecht

Prof. Dr. Urs-Vito Albrecht holds the Chair of Digital Medicine and leads the Digital Medicine Research Group at the OWL Medical Faculty of Bielefeld University. Previously, he served as Deputy Director of the PLRI (Peter L. Reichertz Institute) Hanover branch and Managing Physician/Chair of the Ethics Committee at Hannover Medical School (MHH).

Education includes a medical degree from MHH, a doctorate in forensic medicine, a Master of Public Health (MPH) specializing in public health ethics and epidemiology, and a doctorate in public health sciences. He received his venia legendi in medical informatics in 2017 and was appointed adjunct professor in 2020.

Research focuses on:

• Ethical/legal aspects of digital medicine
• Quality assurance in mHealth and Space Health
• Seismocardiography applications
• Knowledge transfer in medical education

He has authored 300+ publications and serves on national/European eHealth/mHealth expert committees. His work has received numerous scientific awards.
