Uri Treisman is a University Distinguished Teaching Professor of Mathematics and Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin, operating within the College of Natural Sciences. As founder of the Charles A. Dana Center—an organized research unit he led as executive director for 35 years until stepping down in June 2023—he drives systemic education reform across K-20 systems.
His research spans mathematics education, education policy, and social psychology, focusing on equity in STEM through initiatives like the Academic Youth Development program and Intensified Algebra. Treisman's work centers on reshaping student academic identities and transforming achievement pathways, particularly for underrepresented minorities.
