Urban Lienert

Urban Lienert is a Lecturer at the Lucerne School of Music within Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. His primary affiliations include the Institute of New Music, Composition and Theory. He holds a background in Jazz bass performance and music technology, having studied at Hochschule Luzern – Musik under Heiri Känzig and Herbie Kopf until 1997.

Research focuses on the intersection of music performance and technology, including development of software applications for iOS/macOS, musical interface design, and sound installations. Notable projects include MIDI Touch Bar integration (miditouchbar.ch), Pd Blocks external for Roli Blocks, and sound art installations like 'Space Friction' (2022) and 'Sonic Umbrellas' (2022).

Teaching responsibilities include Computer Courses, Jazz Theory, and Jazz Ensemble instruction in non-degree programs.
