معرفی
Urban Lendahl is a Professor at the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, Karolinska Institutet. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of the Notch signaling pathway, particularly its role in cell fate decisions during development, cancer, vascular diseases, and neurological disorders. He leads the research group 'Notch signaling, ES cells, myogenic and vascular progenitor breast cancer – Urban Lendahl's Group.'
Research Interests: Dr. Lendahl investigates Notch signaling in cancer biology, vascular biology, and developmental biology. His work spans topics like breast cancer progression, CADASIL (a genetic stroke disorder), Alagille syndrome, and the molecular anatomy of brain vasculature. His group employs cutting-edge techniques such as single-cell transcriptomics and genetic mouse models to explore these areas.
Grants and Collaborations: He has secured grants from organizations like the Swedish Research Council and the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation for projects on cerebral small vessel disease, Notch signaling in breast cancer, and fibroblast heterogeneity. Collaborations with groups like Christer Betsholtz’s lab highlight his interdisciplinary approach.
Labs/Teams: His research group is part of the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, contributing to a vibrant academic community at Karolinska Institutet. Key projects include developing therapeutic strategies targeting NOTCH pathways in cancer and elucidating vascular pathologies in genetic diseases.
