Umut Yildrim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology, affiliated with the Global Migration Centre, the Hoffmann Centre for Global Sustainability, and the Gender Centre. Her work bridges transnational mobilities, migration studies, and ethnographic research on conflict zones.

She explores themes like trauma, sovereignty, and intersectional inequalities through ethnographic methodologies.
Recent publications analyze war's environmental impacts, cultural memory, and post-conflict resistance practices. Her edited volume War-torn Ecologies (2023) examines intersections between violence, ecology, and affect across species.
