Dr. Umit Karabiyik is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University, leading the Ubiquitous and Mobile Investigative Techniques and Technologies (UMIT²) Lab. He holds a PhD from Florida State University and focuses on Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, and AI-driven security solutions. His research addresses challenges in mobile and IoT forensics, forensic intelligence, and privacy-preserving technologies. Dr. Karabiyik has secured federal funding from agencies like the National Institute of Justice and Department of Homeland Security, and delivers training programs for law enforcement. He serves on editorial boards for journals like the Journal of Digital Forensics, Security and Law, and has been recognized as an AAFS Fellow and Purdue Faculty Scholar.
