Umi Lovecraft is a Lecturer in Responsible Design at the London College of Communication, part of the University of the Arts London. Her work focuses on co-creating radically inclusive, planetary-centred design while decolonizing and diversifying design industries and education. She founded insider-outsider, a studio working with marginalized communities, and co-founded decosm, a decolonial city-making collective with Neba Sere.

Her research interests emphasize designing for marginalized communities, ecological systems, and inclusive urban spaces. She has over 13 years of experience in design and education sectors, including roles at institutions like MIT, Central Saint Martins, and the Royal College of Art. Since 2020, she has served as an Expert for the Design Council (UK's national design advisor).
Through her practice and pedagogy, Umi advocates for design that prioritizes equity, sustainability, and systemic change, leveraging collaborations like decosm to reimagine urban development.
