Ulrike Ludwig is a Professor and Principal Investigator at the University of Münster’s Cluster of Excellence, focusing on Criticism of Religion and Apologetics. She leads projects on demons in media, fortune-telling in early modern politics, and cultural history of early modern administration. Her work bridges legal, military, and religious history, with expertise in magic, dueling, and governance. She obtained her Habilitation in Modern History at TU Dresden and held professorships in Dresden, Giessen, and Erlangen via the Heisenberg Scholarship (2015–2019). Key research areas include early modern Europe’s legal pluralism, military culture, and the role of fortune-telling in political decision-making.
