Ulrike Krotscheck

Ulrike Krotscheck is a Professor of Classical Studies at The Evergreen State College, specializing in the archaeology of the ancient Greek and Roman worlds. Her work bridges global archaeology, heritage ethics, and interdisciplinary collaboration with geologists, ecologists, and philosophers.

• Ph.D. in Classics and Archaeology from Stanford University (2008)

• B.A. in Art History from Mount Holyoke College (1997)

Her research focuses on the ancient Greek diaspora, Greek ceramics, cross-cultural trade networks, and mortuary archaeology. Current projects include The West Cemetery at Isthmia: A Contextual Approach and ongoing fieldwork in Turkey, France, and Washington State.

Recent publications and presentations highlight transnational ceramic exchange, maritime trade dynamics, and the interplay between material culture and political systems. Key methodologies include neutron activation analysis and contextual excavation frameworks.
