Ulrich Volz

Ulrich Volz is Professor of Economics and Director of the Centre for Sustainable Finance at SOAS, University of London. He holds additional roles as Senior Research Fellow at the German Development Institute, Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Honorary Professor at the University of Leipzig. He serves as Director of the Global Research Alliance for Sustainable Finance and Investment and participates in advisory panels for GFANZ and UN initiatives.

Research interests include sustainable finance, climate policy integration into central banking, financial stability, and digital finance for development. His work focuses on regulatory frameworks, climate transition risks, and biodiversity-related financial risks.

Recent publications analyze prudential supervision tools for net-zero transitions, green finance in Asia, digital finance applications, and central bank roles in sustainable finance. Key themes span regulatory innovation, global financial system reform, and equity considerations in climate-resilient finance.
