Professor Ulrich Reininghaus is a Heisenberg Professor at the Central Institute of Mental Health (CIMH), Mannheim, where he heads the newly established Department of Public Mental Health. He also holds a visiting professorship at the Health Service and Population Research Department, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London.

- Professional Training: Postdoctoral training at the University of Cambridge and King’s College London
His research focuses on the intersection of public mental health, implementation science, and social epidemiology, aiming to bridge evidence-based interventions with real-world mental health service delivery. He pioneered the use of mHealth (mobile health) technologies for ecological assessment and intervention in mental health care. His work emphasizes participatory frameworks to improve mental health outcomes through policy and service innovation.
Professor Reininghaus has secured competitive funding from the European Union (EU), ZonMW, BMBF, and MWK. He serves as an Associate Editor for the journal Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology, where he commissions state-of-the-art review series.
