Prof. Dr. Ulrich Port is a faculty member at the University of Trier in the Department of Modern German Literature (Faculty II, German Studies). He specializes in interdisciplinary research connecting Literature, Philosophy, and the Visual Arts, with a focus on Tragedy Theory, Aesthetics of Affects, and Cultural Histories of Nature and Religion. His teaching spans from German literature of 1750–1830 to contemporary adaptations of classical texts.
