Ulrich Bartosch

Prof. Dr. Ulrich Bartosch is President of the University of Passau (since 2020) and HRK Vice-President for Teaching, Learning and Teacher Training (since 12/2023). He served as Chairman of the German Department of Social Work (2006–2012) and holds a Professorship for Education at the Faculty of Social Work, Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (since 2000).

Education:

• Doctoral degree in Philosophy (Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and Humboldt University Berlin, 1994) on Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker's peace theory
• Master of Arts in Political Science (1987)
• Diplom Degree in Education (University of Regensburg, 1986)

His research focuses on education, political science, and peace studies, with a career spanning roles as a researcher, lecturer, and leadership positions in higher education organizations including the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and Federation of German Scientists (VDW).
