Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Ulf Kallweit holds the Endowed Professorship for Narcolepsy and Hypersomnolence Research at the University of Witten/Herdecke's Faculty of Health. He co-directs the Center for Rare Sleep Disorders (CeSER) and leads the Clinical Sleep and Neuroimmunology Group at Stanford University. His work bridges neurology, sleep medicine, and environmental influences on hypersomnia disorders.

- Clinical Training: Neurology specialization, sleep medicine certification, traffic medicine qualification
Research Focus: Narcolepsy pathophysiology, neuroimmunology of hypersomnia, environmental triggers in neurological sleep disorders, and inflammatory CNS disease interactions. He pioneered studies on T-cell targeting of hypocretin neurons in narcolepsy.
Recent Publications span pharmacological management of narcolepsy, sleep disorder epidemiology, real-world treatment outcomes for hypersomnolence, and environmental neurotoxicology. Collaborative work with European Sleep Foundation and Marga & Walter Boll Foundation underpins his research ecosystem.
Awards: Pfizer Foundation Research Prize (2020), Franco-Regli Foundation 1st Prize (2021), CDC Nakano Citation (2019), Italian Narcolepsy Association Research Prize (2018). Fellow of the European Academy of Neurology (2021).
Clinical Leadership: Heads Witten's Narcolepsy Center and Sleep Medicine Institute. Trained as neurologist and sleep specialist in Bern and Zurich. Current roles include Master in Sleep Medicine program at University of Bern.
