Ulf Bjereld is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Gothenburg. His research spans international politics, digital democracy, political cleavages, and gender and politics. He led the research program 'Sweden and the Cold War,' a multidisciplinary initiative funded by The Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation.

- Chair of Swedish Political Science Association (SWEPSA) (1999–2001)
His recent publications focus on Nordic security, NATO membership debates, political solidarity movements, and critiques of identity politics. He has contributed to analyses of Swedish defense policy, media influence on democracy, and the interplay between individualism and nationalism in crisis contexts.
