Uche Nduka is an itinerant poet-professor, essayist, collagist and songwriter currently teaching at The New School's Eugene Lang College and Queens College-CUNY. His academic work is deeply intertwined with his creative practice as a published poet.
Nduka's research interests span poetry, creative writing, African diaspora literature, and essays on music, mortality and travel. His creative work explores themes of identity, displacement, and the complexities of cultural belonging.
Nduka is the author of 14 volumes of poetry, with his latest work Bainbridge Island Notebook documenting his family's pandemic experience on Washington State's Bainbridge Island. His work has achieved international recognition through translations into Finnish, German, Romanian, Arabic, Turkish, Italian, and Dutch.
Nduka's creative output demonstrates a consistent engagement with both personal narrative and broader social commentary, particularly regarding the African diaspora experience. His work bridges academic and creative spheres, reflecting his dual identity as both scholar and artist.
