Prof. Tülay YAVAN is a Professor and Head of the Nursing Department at the İzmir University of Economics (İUE) Faculty of Health Sciences since 2022. She holds a PhD in Birth and Women's Health Nursing from Gülhane Military Medical Academy (2004) and has held academic titles including Associate Professor (2011) and Professor (2018). Her primary expertise lies in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with a focus on maternal health, reproductive health challenges, and healthcare education.
Her research spans topics such as maternal mental health, cervical cancer screening, preeclampsia management, and the impact of digital interventions on pediatric care. Notable contributions include studies on pandemic effects on academia and nursing education, and qualitative investigations into women’s experiences during pregnancy and childbirth.
Prof. YAVAN has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals like Journal of Psychosocial Oncology and Archives of Environmental & Occupational Health, and authored book chapters on reproductive health physiology and patient safety. She has served as a keynote speaker on topics such as nursing education’s economic contributions and gender studies.
