Tyler Tapps

Tyler Tapps is an Associate Professor in Recreation and Assistant Director in the School of Health Science and Wellness at Northwest Missouri State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Health, Leisure and Human Performance from Oklahoma State University, an M.S. in Recreation and B.S. in Corporate Recreation/Wellness from Northwest Missouri State University.

His research explores dimensions of recreation pursuits across the lifespan, recreation management strategies, and wellness programming. Current projects include authoring a fifth book on life-span recreation.

Significant honors include:

• Research Fellow from Oklahoma Health Association (2014)
• Faculty Excellence Award for Scholarship (2017)
• Excellence in Agility and Innovation Award (2019)
