Tyler Giannini

Tyler Giannini is a Clinical Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, specializing in Alien Tort Statute (ATS) litigation, business and human rights, and clinical pedagogy. He has extensive experience with cases involving Myanmar, South Africa, and Bolivia, and advocates for social entrepreneurship in human rights contexts. Giannini holds degrees from William & Mary and the University of Virginia.

Education: B.A. History and Government (William & Mary, 1992); M.A. Foreign Affairs and J.D. (University of Virginia, 1995). Bar admissions include Virginia.

Research focuses on corporate accountability, environmental human rights, and transitional justice. Notable awards include the Echoing Green fellowship and Harvard’s Innovation Fund grant for clinical work on Burma.

Teaches courses on climate change and human rights, human rights litigation, and business ethics. Serves as a special advisor to the HLS Public Service Venture Fund and co-founded EarthRights International.
