Tuomo Soininen is a Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Technical Physics, within the Faculty of Science, Forestry and Technology at the University of Eastern Finland. His work focuses on microplastic contamination analysis in aquatic environments, industrial quality control applications, and environmental health impacts.

Tuomo investigates microplastic dynamics in freshwater and Arctic systems, including seasonal deposition patterns, analytical methodologies for industrial quality control, and health implications of plastic leachables. His work bridges technical physics with environmental science through innovative monitoring and removal techniques.
