Tuba Doğu is a PartTime Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at Izmir Institute of Technology, with a focus on alternative spatial practices and participatory urbanism. She completed her PhD at IzTech in 2020 and holds a Master's in Design Science (Sustainable Design) from the University of Sydney.

Her research explores social interventions as alternative spatial practices, emphasizing human and material agency. Recent articles analyze coastal reclamation, junk ecologies, and participatory design frameworks. She investigates how marginalized urban spaces are transformed through ecological, social, and political actions.
Scientific awards include the Fulbright PhD Research Fellowship (2017-2018), Design Trust Hong Kong Fellowship (2018), and Tandem Turkey Cultural Managers Exchange Program (2015-2016, 2018-2019). Her work spans projects in Turkey, Brazil, Australia, and India.
Doğu co-founded UrbanTank (www.urbantank.org) in 2013, a collective focused on human-centered urban interventions. She integrates teaching, research, and practice to address sustainability and equity in urban environments.
