Tuba Batu is an Associate Professor and current Head of the Department of Handicrafts at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University's College of Vocational Schools. A ceramic artist born in Diyarbakır in 1980, she graduated from Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts (1998) with a focus on Ceramics, earned her master's degree (2006) studying female figures in contemporary ceramic art, and completed her Ph.D. at Marmara University in 2016 with the thesis "Identity-Memory: 'I Wanted to Be Known!'" After working in the ceramics industry as a designer and manager until 2016, she transitioned to academia in 2018.
