Trui Steen is a full professor at the Public Governance Institute within the Faculty of Social Sciences at KU Leuven. Her research focuses on public service co-creation, citizen science, urban climate adaptation, and governance networks, with extensive involvement in international collaborations and projects.
- Key Projects:
- Lead promotor for "Of friends, foes and frenemies" (2025-2026) on interpersonal trust in policy processes.
- Co-promotor for projects on democratic anchorage reforms (2025-2029) and environmental governance in the Democratic Republic of Congo (2024-2028).
- Research Themes:
- Co-creation networks, climate-adaptive urban development, and public value realization through citizen engagement.
- Behavioral aspects of climate policy acceptance and the role of framing in public administration.
