Troy Yao

Dr. Troy Yao is an Adjunct Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer in the School of Accountancy at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Business School. He holds a PhD in Accounting from Griffith University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from QUT. His academic roles include teaching financial accounting standards, theories, and contemporary reporting issues, for which he received the Vice-Chancellor’s Performance Fund Award in 2017. His research focuses on accounting standards interpretation, executive compensation, audit pricing, and corporate governance, with publications in journals like Journal of Business Finance & Accounting and Accounting and Finance. He actively supervises doctoral and master’s students, contributing to academic mentorship. Professional memberships include CPA Australia and the Higher Education Academy (HEA Fellow).
