Troy White serves as an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication (ALEC) within the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, stationed at the Panhandle Research, Extension, & Education Center (PREEC) in Scottsbluff.
Dr. White holds a Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Agricultural Education from the University of Idaho. His career spans a decade of secondary agricultural education teaching in Oregon and Idaho with dual certification in agriculture and science, followed by seven years at South Dakota State University in agricultural education teacher preparation before transitioning to his current role at UNL.
His research centers on STEM integration within agricultural mechanics, innovative curriculum development, and evidence-based teacher professional development models. Dr. White actively bridges agricultural education with broader STEM disciplines through resources like the Agronomy & Climate Science Interactive Parliamentary Procedure Notebook and USDA-NIFA Sponsored iLEARN Teaching Resources, focusing on practical applications for classroom instruction.
Teaching responsibilities include graduate-level ALEC 824: Foundations of Career and Technical Education and supervising student teachers through ALEC 431. His extension work involves securing USDA-NIFA funding for educational resources, supporting new and alternatively certified teachers through professional development, and serving on the National FFA Conduct of Chapter Meetings Leadership Development Event committee for seven years while supporting FFA activities across multiple levels.
