Trish Gianakis serves as Assistant Professor of Fine Arts and Digital Arts at Saint Peter's University, where she teaches digital art, visual art, and digital design while pioneering immersive art practices that merge physical sculpture with interactive digital media. With over 20 years of industry experience, her work explores healing, spirituality, and innovation through emerging technologies.
Education:
- Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Computer Art Installation from School of Visual Arts, New York City
- Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) from Arizona State University
Professor Gianakis specializes in immersive technologies including augmented reality (integrated since 2018), virtual reality (expanded in 2020), and extended reality applications. Her research focuses on bridging traditional art mediums with digital tools for experiential storytelling, demonstrated through virtual reality television set designs developed during her BronxNet TV residency and collaborations with major entities like Major League Baseball and AMC TV. She emphasizes foundational technical understanding in student training, stating: 'I want students understanding why they use certain tools and the fundamental principals behind them.'

Current projects include VR television designs and the 'Borggenheim Project' featured in White Hot Magazine (2025), reflecting her ongoing leadership in integrating AI+XR technologies into broadcast media and education.
