Trine Lindegaard Jensen

Trine Lindegaard Jensen is a Professor of fashion at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Atlanta, GA, since 2017. She holds an M.F.A. in fashion design from the Royal College of Art and a B.A. in fashion from Middlesex University. Her career spans academic roles and independent design ventures focused on social impact and sustainability.

Research & Practice: Jensen prioritizes social design processes and sustainable production methods, often collaborating with marginalized communities such as prisoners, asylum seekers, and immigrant women. She merges craft traditions with modern textile practices to foster self-empowerment and community engagement. Her work includes large-scale urban art projects, fashion installations, and community weaving initiatives like Weave Together and Strings, showcased at Copenhagen Fashion Week and beyond.

She also led textile design for Move Me Shirts (2011–12) and sourced product ranges for MacCulloch & Wallis (2006–08). Her work has been featured in The Guardian, Vogue Japan, Vice, and Style Bubble, among others.

Labs & Collaborations: Jensen’s projects often involve interdisciplinary collaboration, such as her Stitch initiatives (e.g., Stitch: Join Denmark Together, the world’s largest cross-stitch piece) and the Waste exhibition. She also contributed to sustainable uniform production for Siemens and guest-lectured at Brunel University, UK.
