Dr. Trent Kull is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Winthrop University's Department of Mathematics within the College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Colorado State University, an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the same institution, an M.A. in Education from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from the United States Air Force Academy.
His research interests include calculus, differential equations (ordinary/partial), linear algebra, real & complex analysis, and inverse problems. He emphasizes mathematics education, particularly in pedagogical approaches and curriculum development. Dr. Kull served as the NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative for Winthrop from 2016 to 2024.
He teaches a broad range of courses including Everyday Mathematics, Complex Analysis, Geometry for Teachers, Calculus I-III, Linear Algebra, Real Analysis, and Undergraduate Research in Mathematics. His teaching extends to special topics like Elementary Partial Differential Equations and Mathematics Education-focused courses.
