Research Interests:
Whitfill’s work emphasizes measuring gaps in pediatric emergency care and developing interventions to address them. He pioneered the use of radar plots to visualize pediatric readiness across hospitals and led a 200-center study on ED quality improvement. His disaster medicine research includes a videogame-based tool (60 Seconds to Survival) for pediatric triage training, shown to be cost-effective compared to traditional methods. He also explores telemedicine applications, including neonatal resuscitation support and international simulations.
