Travis Pantin

Travis Pantin is an Associate Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law and serves as the Director of the Insurance Law Center, the leading academic center for insurance law in the U.S. He teaches courses in insurance law and contract law, focusing on developing an "internalist" theory of insurance law through doctrinal, historical, and institutional analysis.

• Career: Former macroeconomics/finance reporter, General Counsel of Garner Health, Academic Fellow at Columbia Law School, clerk for Judge Guido Calabresi (Second Circuit) and Pakistan Supreme Court

His research examines how insurance law defines individual responsibility, distinct from tort or criminal law frameworks, with particular attention to principles like indemnification limits for morally culpable acts. His recent work explores the immanent logic of insurance doctrine.
