Travis Dowling

Travis Dowling is a Lecturer (Theatre) at the University of Southern Queensland's School of Creative Arts. With over a decade of experience, he has worked extensively in the performing arts across Australia, including roles as a theatre director for mainstage and youth-focused theatre institutions such as Queensland Theatre, Hothouse Theatre, and Australian Theatre for Young People. Since 2012, he has taught and directed at tertiary institutions like Griffith University and Queensland University of Technology, alongside his current position at UniSQ since 2020.

His expertise spans Youth Arts, Theatre, and related disciplines. Dowling has held substantive roles including Associate Director positions at Grin and Tonic Theatre and Queensland Theatre, and served as Academic/Co-Convenor of Theatre at UniSQ. He teaches courses such as THT1000, THT1005, and SCA1222, focusing on theatre and creative arts education.

Educated at the University of Southern Queensland, he holds a Bachelor of Theological Arts (BThArts) from 2011. His career emphasizes arts engagement with young people and contributions to theatre education and practice.
