Trang Hoang is an Accredited Professor at the University of Montreal's Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC). Her research focuses on hematopoietic stem cell biology and acute leukemias, particularly investigating how oncogenes disrupt molecular networks in these cells. She leads a multidisciplinary team combining molecular genetics, proteomics, and genomic approaches with transgenic mouse models. Key areas include understanding SCL and LMO2's role in stem cell maintenance and leukemia development, as well as epigenetic switches governing erythroid differentiation.
Research interests include gene expression control, developmental biology, and cancer mechanisms, with a focus on bioinformatics and proteomic analyses. Her work aims to identify therapeutic targets for leukemia by studying oncogene-induced disruptions in hematopoietic signaling pathways.
Publications highlight advancements in understanding SCL-LMO1-driven T-cell leukemia, ETO2's role in erythropoiesis, and PU.1/c-Jun interactions in myeloid differentiation. The lab collaborates widely, focusing on translating molecular insights into clinical applications.
