Tramayne Michelle Butler-DeLong

Tramayne Michelle Butler-DeLong is an Adjunct Professor at National Louis University, teaching since 2014. She holds a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (2006), with a BA in Anthropology from the University of Illinois at Chicago (1999, summa cum laude). Her research focuses on racial and ethnic identity dynamics between African Americans and Kenyan immigrants in Chicago, supported by grants from SSRC and NSF. She also explores globalization, media, and cross-cultural approaches to health/wellness.

Research Interests: Examines social identity formation through ethnographic methods, with a focus on urban diversity in global cities like Chicago. Recent interests include eco-consciousness and cultural practices in wellness, reflected in her eco-luxury skincare business launched in 2007.
