Tracy Sbrocco

Tracy Sbrocco, Ph.D., serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Medical and Clinical Psychology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) School of Medicine in Bethesda, MD. Her academic leadership spans military health psychology, graduate education, and institutional governance.

Her educational foundation includes:

• B.S. in Natural Sciences from the University of Akron
• Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with Health Psychology emphasis from Vanderbilt University
• Psychology Internship at VA Palo Alto Health Care System
• Postdoctoral Fellowship at Center for Stress & Anxiety Disorders, SUNY-Albany

Research focuses on obesity management and prevention through long-term behavior change, with emphasis on community-based health programs for military populations. Her work integrates clinical psychology with practical interventions for weight management and health promotion in high-stress environments.

As an educator, she directs graduate courses in Psychopathology, Health Psychology, and Group Psychotherapy while contributing to medical student curricula in GI, Reproductive Endocrine, and Multi-Systems Modules. She founded USU’s APA-accredited Clinical Psychology program and served as Faculty Senate President (2016-2017).
