Tracy Rittenhouse is Associate Professor of Wildlife Ecology and Director of Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation Center at University of Connecticut. Researches wildlife adaptation to urbanization and human-wildlife coexistence strategies.
Leads the Connecticut Bobcat Project using GPS collaring to study:
- Bobcat movement patterns in urban habitats
- Wildlife responses to development interfaces
- Population dynamics in fragmented landscapes
Research examines why some wildlife populations thrive in urban-forest interfaces while others decline, with focus on mammals including black bears, bobcats, and amphibians in vernal pools.
