Dr. Tracy Moniz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU), with an Adjunct appointment in Women’s Studies and affiliation at the IWK Health Centre. She holds a PhD in Communication and Culture (York/Toronto Metropolitan University), an MA in Journalism (University of Western Ontario), and a BA Honours in English Literature (University of Toronto). Her research focuses on health humanities, narrative analysis, reflective writing pedagogy, and gender in media, with a particular emphasis on healthcare systems and medical education. Dr. Moniz’s work bridges qualitative methods and interdisciplinary collaboration, contributing to journals like Journal of the American Medical Association and Medical Education. She develops narrative medicine workshops and explores how storytelling shapes healthcare practices and gender discourse in historical and contemporary contexts.
