Traci Connor is a Teaching Professor in the Department of English at the University of Pittsburgh, affiliated with the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences. She holds an M.F.A. in Fiction and a Ph.D. in Literature and Writing (Monster Theory) from the University of Utah, with undergraduate studies in basketball at Brigham Young University and California State University Los Angeles.
Her research interests span Monster Theory, creative writing pedagogy, and strengths-based advising. She has published widely in literary journals like DIAGRAM, Superstition Review, and LIT Magazine, with notable works including the short story collection Recipes for Endangered Species (2010) and contributions to Mother Horse (2012).
Connor teaches courses on YA Literature, Monsters and Film, and Professional Writing, emphasizing empathy-driven education. She has presented nationally on topics ranging from zombie narratives to Gertrude Stein's influence. Current projects include a novel and home design initiatives. Prior roles include radio/TV hosting and Student Success Advisor positions.
