Tracey Redwood is an Associate Professor in Nursing & Health Professions at the Faculty of Health, Education and Society, University of Northampton, where she has been a member of staff since 2006. Her academic and clinical expertise lies in child health, with a focus on paediatric and neonatal intensive care, maternal transitions, and early years interventions. She teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate programs and supervises national and international PhD students.
Her research is primarily qualitative, focusing on vulnerable populations including teenage mothers, children in care, and young offenders. She led the development of a Universal Family Assessment tool and evaluated the Early Years Early Help Programme. She secured National Lottery funding to establish a community family center and recently completed a two-year project evaluating resilience in children across 16 inner-city London schools. Her latest innovation project, ‘Converting willingness to Engagement,’ explores health professionals’ engagement with continuing professional development.
Her publications demonstrate a strong commitment to improving early intervention services, family support systems, and child health outcomes. Key themes include maternal transition, parenting programs, and health equity in early childhood.

Tracey Redwood actively supervises PhD students and has secured external funding for multiple research and community projects.
