Tracey Lucas, M.S., is a Lecturer and Assistant Dean of Education at McDaniel College's College of Graduate and Professional Studies, where she supports the development of future educators. With over 31 years of experience in K–12 education and leadership in Frederick County Public Schools, she brings deep practical insight into teacher preparation and educational leadership.
Her educational background includes:
- B.A. in Education from Grove City College (1988)
- M.S. from Hood College (1999)
- Certificate in Educational Leadership
Tracey's research and teaching interests center on teacher efficacy and the integration of neuroscience with pedagogy to improve classroom instruction. She is passionate about cultivating teacher effectiveness and views educator development as a moral obligation to serve today’s diverse learners.
She has been recognized with awards such as the School System Leader in Gifted and Talented Education and the Leadership Award from Leadership Frederick County Council, highlighting her impact in educational leadership.
Tracey is actively involved in community service, serving as a Board Member and Governance Committee Chair for the Frederick County YMCA Metro Board. She teaches key graduate courses including EDU 580: Learning and Teaching in Today's Schools, EDL 502: Role of the Principal, and EDL 540: School Law, contributing significantly to leadership development in education.
