Tracey L. Yap is an Associate Professor at the Duke School of Nursing and a Senior Fellow at the Duke University Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development. Her research focuses on improving nursing staff care delivery for geriatric conditions, particularly pressure ulcers, through mobility interventions and cultural assessments.

Dr. Yap's research explores translational science applications in nursing, emphasizing evidence-based mobility interventions in diverse healthcare settings. She developed the Nursing Culture Assessment Tool (NCAT) to evaluate occupational subcultures in nursing and is currently investigating optimal repositioning intervals for pressure ulcer prevention via an NINR R01 grant.
Her grant funding includes support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, National Institute of Nursing Research, and The John A. Hartford Foundation.
