Tracey Brigman is a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the FACS Education Degree Program at the University of Georgia. She holds dual roles as the Associate Director of the National Center for Home Food Preservation and an Extension Nutrition Specialist. Her work integrates food science, nutrition education, and leadership development. Brigman earned an Ed.D. in Learning, Leadership, and Organizational Development from UGA (2018), an M.S. in Foods and Nutrition (UGA, 1992), and a B.S. in Dietetics (Indiana University of PA, 1990).
Her research focuses on ingredient functionality in foods, food safety preservation methods, and adult learning theory. She has pioneered culinary education programs like the Culinary Skills Summer Academy and Culinary Institute I. Brigman is a frequent media contributor, addressing topics ranging from food preservation techniques to dietary trends in outlets like Consumer Reports and NewsBeezer.
Brigman has received over 15 major awards recognizing her teaching, service, and diversity leadership, including the 2024 Post Secondary Teacher of the Year and 2023 Super Includer Diversity Award. She leads professional organizations such as the Georgia Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (2024 President).
