Prof. Dr. Torsten Textor is a Professor of Surface Modification & Finishing at Reutlingen University's TEXOVERSUM Faculty of Textiles. He serves as Vice Dean of Research and Head of the Teaching and Research Centre for Interactive Materials (IMAT). His research focuses on nanotechnology, functional coatings, and textile surface modifications. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from Duisburg-Essen University and has been recognized with the 1999 Clear&Clean Technology Award.

He leads interdisciplinary initiatives such as InBiO (interactive, bio-based car interiors) and MoTraScha (adaptive seat covers for disabled individuals).
