Giuseppe Rosace is a Full Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry at the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences, University of Bergamo. He serves as the Rector's Delegate for Technology Transfer, Spin-offs, and Relations with the U4I Foundation since 2022, and coordinates the "Textile Chemistry, Composites, and Interface Science" Laboratory at the Engineering Campus. As a founding member of "ArgoChem Srl," a university-authorized spin-off, and Secretary General of the International Federation of Associations of Textile Chemists and Colorists (IFATCC) since 2013, Professor Rosace maintains strong industry and international connections.
Professor Rosace's research focuses on colloidal chemistry and the synthesis and characterization of organic-inorganic hybrid materials for polymer surface functionalization. His work develops coatings with barrier or stimuli-responsive properties that enhance material performance or enable wearable chemical sensors. His expertise spans sol-gel technology, textile chemistry, smart materials, and nanocomposites, with applications in medical textiles, sustainable manufacturing, and advanced sensing systems. His laboratory actively explores the integration of 2D materials like tungsten diselenide into textile substrates for environmental monitoring.

The "Textile Chemistry, Composites, and Interface Science" Laboratory, which Professor Rosace coordinates, focuses on developing advanced functional coatings for textiles using sol-gel technology, nanomaterials, and hybrid organic-inorganic systems. The lab maintains collaborations with both academic institutions through INSTM and CSGI consortia and industry partners through the ArgoChem Srl spin-off, facilitating technology transfer from fundamental research to commercial applications.
