Torsten Bøgh Thomsen is an Associate Professor and Center Director at the Department of Cultural and Linguistic Studies and HC Andersen Center at the University of Southern Denmark. His research focuses on literary studies with specializations in ecocriticism, romantic studies, gender theory, and world literature. He revitalized Hans Christian Andersen research internationally and introduced dark ecology concepts to Denmark.

Recipient of the 2015 Fulbright grant. Active in international conferences, including keynote presentations on Andersen's European breakthrough and eco-mourning themes.
Leads initiatives like Writers-in-Residence programs and digitalization of Andersen's works. Serves as Honorary Senior Research Fellow at University College London and member of The Young Academy.
