Torjer Andreas Olsen is a Professor of Indigenous Studies at the Center for Sami Studies, UiT The Arctic University of Norway. He teaches theory, methodology, and academic writing in the Master's program in Indigenous Studies and supervises students in the same program.

- Academic Career: From 2001-2003 as University Lecturer, 2003-2008 as PhD Fellow, 2009 as Senior Lecturer/Project Manager, 2011 as Associate Professor, and 2017 as Professor in Indigenous Studies
His research focuses on Sámi and indigenous themes in education, including historical gender and sexual diversity in Sámi contexts, ethics in Sámi educational research, and policy integration of Indigenous perspectives. Recent publications emphasize institutionalized Sámi education, cultural preservation, and the role of academia in advancing Indigenous knowledge.
He is actively involved in academic leadership as Instituttleder (Head of Institute) since 2019 and participates in research groups like Skuvllas - Indigenous and Minority Education, Indigenous Citizenship and Education (ICE), and Center for Arctic Humanities. His work addresses challenges in Sámi language education, visibility in urban planning, and Norway's obligations to Indigenous rights.
