Torfinn Lindem is a researcher at the Department of Physics, University of Oslo, specializing in space technology, hydroacoustics, and embedded systems. He serves as Group Leader of the Electronic group and Head of the Electronics and Computer Technology (ELDAT) Study Program.
Research Interests:
- Development of miniaturized sensor systems for CubeSats and space weather monitoring
- Advanced hydroacoustic techniques for fisheries research and SONAR systems
- Smart sensor design and embedded electronics for extreme environments
- Instrumentation for ionospheric and marine ecosystem studies
His recent publications demonstrate expertise in nanosatellite communication systems, Langmuir probe technology for plasma measurements, and innovative hydroacoustic methodologies. The research consistently bridges theoretical physics with practical engineering applications across aerospace and marine domains.

- Knight of the Icelandic Order of the Falcon
Projects and Leadership: Project leader for CubeSTAR satellite initiative, involved in the ICI series of sounding rockets, and cooperation with the Institute of Marine Research on Welfare Tools. He actively contributes to the 4DSpace Strategic Research Initiative and leads the Electronics research group.
