Torbjörn Ekman

Professor Torbjörn Ekman conducts research and teaching in radio communications, communication theory, and signal processing at NTNU's Department of Electronic Systems. He leads the national infrastructure project Reconfigurable Radio Network Platform (ReRaNP) for massive MIMO research.

His expertise includes statistical channel modeling for dynamic wireless environments, prediction techniques for adaptive modulation applications, subspace descriptions of MIMO channels, and satellite radio interference analysis. He has supervised 7 PhD students to completion and regularly mentors MSc students.

Ekman has international research experience including positions at USC Los Angeles and NYU Poly, and has led projects such as CAMOS, WILATI+, SENDORA, and MoPSAR focusing on wireless technologies and sensor networks.
