Tony Carbone is an Assistant Professor in the Music Production and Engineering (MP&E) department at Berklee College of Music, where he contributes to shaping the next generation of music producers and engineers. His academic home resides within the College of Music, emphasizing technical excellence balanced with creative and aesthetic depth.
His research and professional interests span Music Production, Audio Engineering, Electronic Dance Music (EDM), and Music Aesthetics. He emphasizes broad musical exposure, encouraging students to explore diverse genres—from opera to urban pop—to enrich their creative toolkit. His teaching philosophy centers on depth over trendiness, ensuring students develop not just technical prowess but also musicality and emotional intelligence in production.
Tony Carbone has received notable recognition in the music industry, including:
- Best New Act 1981 – National Dance Music Award
With decades of industry experience, Tony actively mentors students through real-world insights, drawing from his work in film, television, corporate media, and international music production. He emphasizes creative advising and holistic development, preparing students for multifaceted careers. He has produced recordings for major labels like Atlantic Records and Casablanca Records, placed songs in films such as Michael Jackson Commemorated and Dreamcatcher, and hosted the internet radio show The E-Zone. He is also the founder of Ridgecrest Music publishing and the artistic force behind the project Cafe Sol y Mar, which produces Club-Chill and Deep House music streamed globally.
